AR Murugadoss, the popular director known for blockbuster hits, was expected to make a grand comeback with Salman Khan’s Sikandar. The film managed to earn over 100 crores at the Indian box office, but unfortunately, it failed to impress the audience and critics. Reviews were mostly negative, and the film couldn’t meet the huge expectations set around it.

Sikandar was supposed to be a big turning point for AR Murugadoss. It marked his first-ever collaboration with Bollywood superstar Salman Khan, and fans were excited. However, the film’s poor word-of-mouth spoiled its long-term box office run. While the movie made decent money, it was far from the success the director badly needed.

Now, AR Murugadoss has a golden opportunity to bounce back with his next film, Madharasi, which stars Sivakarthikeyan in the lead role. This is the first time the two are working together, and expectations are already building up. Sivakarthikeyan is riding high on the success of his last film, Amaran, which turned out to be a massive hit with a net collection of ₹219.94 crores at the Indian box office.

Over the years, AR Murugadoss has worked with some of the biggest stars in Indian cinema. In Bollywood, he directed Ghajini with Aamir Khan, which was a huge blockbuster. He also made Holiday with Akshay Kumar, which was another big success. In Tamil cinema, he teamed up with Thalapathy Vijay for hits like Thuppakki, Kaththi, and Sarkar. He has even worked with superstars like Mahesh Babu in Spyder and Rajinikanth in Darbar.

Despite his strong filmography and 25 years in the industry, Murugadoss has never had a film cross the ₹200 crore net mark at the Indian box office. His highest-grossing film so far is Darbar, which made around ₹149.60 crores net in India. Fans were hoping that Sikandar would be his first 200 crore film, but it turned out to be a disappointment.

This is where Madharasi becomes very important. Sivakarthikeyan has already proved his box office strength with Amaran, and if Madharasi gets positive reviews, there’s a high chance it could become Murugadoss’ first 200 crore net grosser.

What makes this even more interesting is that even after working with big names like Salman Khan, Thalapathy Vijay, Rajinikanth, and Mahesh Babu, Murugadoss hasn’t hit the 200 crore milestone yet. If Sivakarthikeyan manages to pull it off with Madharasi, it will be a huge achievement — both for him and for the director.

As the release of Madharasi gets closer, all eyes are on this exciting new combo. Will AR Murugadoss finally get the big success he’s been waiting for? Will Sivakarthikeyan deliver another blockbuster? Only time will tell, but the signs are definitely promising.
