In an interview with ANI, the Haasil director looked back at a moment from 1994 when he was working as an assistant director on SRK’s popular TV show Fauji. At that time, both were young, just starting out in their careers. One day, Dhulia invited Shah Rukh Khan to his house, hoping to be a good host. Naturally, he offered to make him some tea. But things didn’t quite go as planned.

Recalling the incident, Tigmanshu said that Shekhar Kapur, the well-known filmmaker, was also present. Shekhar asked Tigmanshu to make tea for everyone — but there was a catch. They suggested he use a microwave, which was quite new and unfamiliar at the time.
“I saw a microwave for the first time,” Dhulia laughed. “This was in 1994. Shekhar ji said, ‘Chai bana de yaar’ (Make some tea, buddy). I had no idea how to use it. Still, I tried. I think I made a really terrible cup of tea and served it to Shah Rukh.”
