Kollywood fans are eagerly awaiting the release of Veera Dheera Sooran Part 2, which is set to hit theaters tomorrow. Starring the versatile Chiyaan Vikram, the action thriller is expected to make a strong impact, but early signs suggest that its opening day collection may not match Vikram’s previous theatrical releases.

Lower Pre-Release Buzz Compared to Vikram’s Past Films

Directed by SU Arun Kumar, Veera Dheera Sooran Part 2 has generated some buzz, but it doesn’t seem to have the same hype as Vikram’s other post-pandemic films. The Ponniyin Selvan franchise had the strongest pre-release excitement, while even Cobra and Thangalaan created good discussions among neutral audiences. Unfortunately, the same level of enthusiasm is missing for this upcoming release.

Despite having a well-cut trailer that received a positive response, the film’s advance booking numbers are not as impressive as expected. So far, ticket sales for day 1 have only reached around 2 crore gross (excluding blocked seats). With just a few hours left before release, the final pre-sale figures are unlikely to cross 4 crore.

Show Count & Box Office Expectations

The movie is set to release on approximately 2,600 screens, which is decent but still lower than Vikram’s previous release Thangalaan, which had around 3,500 screens. Even though the initial buzz is not at its peak, Vikram’s star power and the movie’s engaging trailer should help attract audiences to theaters on the first day.

Given the current scenario, Veera Dheera Sooran Part 2 is expected to earn between 8-11 crore net at the Indian box office on its opening day. While this is a respectable number, it is lower than Vikram’s other post-COVID releases, making it his weakest opening in recent times.

Chiyaan Vikram’s Post-COVID Opening Day Box Office Numbers

Here’s how Vikram’s recent films performed on their opening day in India:

  • Ponniyin Selvan 134 crores
  • Ponniyin Selvan 224 crores
  • Cobra45 crores
  • Thangalaan30 crores

Final Thoughts

While Veera Dheera Sooran Part 2 may not open as strongly as Vikram’s previous films, it still has the potential to perform well in the coming days, depending on word of mouth and audience reactions. If the film delivers on action and storytelling, it could see an upward trend in box office collections.
