Tom Cruise’s ‘Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning’ smashes Indian Box Office with Rs 33 crore in 2 days.

Tom Cruise has returned to the big screen and once again proved why he’s one of Hollywood’s biggest stars. His latest action film, Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning (MI8), has had a fantastic start at the Indian box office. In just two days since its release on May 17, the movie has earned a huge Rs 33 crore across all languages.

Released in English, Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu, the film has already beaten the opening numbers of some big international and Indian films. It outperformed Captain America: Brave New World, which made Rs 4.2 crore, and Thunderbolts, which earned Rs 3.8 crore. Even Bollywood titles like Kesari 2 (Rs 7.5 crore) and Jaat (Rs 9.5 crore) couldn’t match the excitement around Cruise’s new movie.

Trade analysts reported that the movie collected Rs 16.5 crore each on both Saturday and Sunday. The English version saw an impressive occupancy rate of 41.84% on Sunday, with evening shows reaching a high of 51.70%. The Hindi version also performed well, with an average occupancy of 25.28% and evening shows touching 33.06%.

Although a slight dip in collections is expected on Monday, MI8 has already made history. It is now the biggest Hollywood opening of 2025 in India. Tom Cruise continues to be a major attraction at the box office. Audiences and critics alike are praising his dedication, especially because he still performs all his dangerous stunts without a body double — even at the age of 62!

Indian media outlet India Today praised Cruise as the “driving force behind the franchise,” highlighting his unmatched energy and commitment.

Directed by Christopher McQuarrie, The Final Reckoning follows Ethan Hunt and his team from the IMF (Impossible Mission Force) as they try to stop a powerful artificial intelligence called The Entity. This rogue AI threatens the future of humanity, and it’s up to Ethan and his crew to save the world.

The movie also stars Hayley Atwell, Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, Angela Bassett, and Pom Klementieff, making the cast stronger than ever.

While Indian fans are already loving the film, international audiences will soon get to see it too. The movie is set to release in the U.S. on May 23. With strong word-of-mouth and great early numbers, it’s expected to perform well in global markets as well.
