
After the mixed response to L2: Empuraan, mainly due to its high budget, Mohanlal has made a strong comeback with his new thriller Thudarum. The film has received positive reviews from audiences and critics, which helped it see a huge jump in collections on Saturday.
Impressive Growth on Saturday
Thudarum opened well on its first day, collecting ₹5.24 crore net across India. The real excitement started on Saturday when the film showed a massive growth of 71%, earning an estimated ₹8.96 crore net, according to Sacnilk.
Morning shows recorded a healthy occupancy of 65%, which further increased to 86% in the afternoon and 84% during the night shows. Thanks to strong word of mouth, theatres saw more footfalls as the day progressed.
In just two days, the total net collection of Thudarum stands at around ₹14.21 crores. Including taxes, the gross earnings have reached ₹16.76 crores, making it one of the top-performing Malayalam films of 2025 so far.
Thudarum vs Top Malayalam Grossers of 2025
In just 48 hours, Thudarum, directed by Tharun Moorthy, has already beaten the lifetime collections of four Malayalam movies released in 2025.
It has surpassed:
- Bromance (₹8.56 crores)
- Dominic And The Ladies Purse (₹9.37 crores)
- Ponman (₹10.18 crores)
- Bazooka (₹13.88 crores)
With these numbers, Thudarum now holds the 6th position among the highest-grossing Malayalam movies of 2025. It is now eyeing the 5th spot by competing closely with Maranamass, which has collected ₹17.88 crores so far.
