The Diplomat Box Office Collection: John Abraham’s Thriller Crosses ₹51.37 Crore Globally in 29 Days
John Abraham and Sadia Khateeb’s political thriller The Diplomat may not have set the box office on fire, but it has quietly achieved a small milestone. Released with average reviews, the film had a slow run in both domestic and international markets. However, after 29 days in theatres, The Diplomat has managed to cross the ₹50 crore mark at the global box office.
Domestic Performance
Despite facing tough competition from other releases and limited buzz, The Diplomat has slowly inched toward a respectable total in India. So far, the film has collected ₹38.88 crore net at the domestic box office. With a gross total of ₹45.87 crore in India, it has now become the fourth highest-grossing Bollywood film of 2025 in the country. It has managed to surpass the collections of films like Deva, Emergency, and Fateh.
The movie is now in the final stage of its theatrical run. With the upcoming release of Kesari Chapter 2, The Diplomat might soon be removed from most theatres. Still, reaching close to ₹40 crore net in India is a decent feat for a film that didn’t have strong initial momentum.
Overseas Box Office Report
The Diplomat had a decent start in international markets. On its opening day overseas, the film earned ₹1.30 crore gross. However, the momentum didn’t last long. As days passed, the collections started to drop, and the film ended up with a total of ₹5.50 crore gross from overseas.
Although it failed to sustain international interest, the overseas earnings helped push the film’s worldwide total to a modest figure.
Worldwide Total Crosses ₹50 Crore
Combining its domestic and international earnings, The Diplomat has now crossed the half-century mark. The total worldwide box office collection stands at ₹51.37 crore gross after 29 days.
Here’s the detailed breakdown of the earnings:
- India Net: ₹38.88 crore
- India Gross: ₹45.87 crore
- Overseas Gross: ₹5.50 crore
- Worldwide Gross: ₹51.37 crore
This makes The Diplomat the fifth highest-grossing Bollywood film of 2025 at the global box office, just behind Deva, which has earned ₹59.36 crore worldwide.

Sunny Deol’s Jaat Threatens The Diplomat’s Position
The joy for The Diplomat team might be short-lived. Sunny Deol’s new film Jaat is off to a flying start. On its opening day, Jaat earned ₹13.35 crore gross, indicating that it could easily surpass The Diplomat’s lifetime total in just one weekend.
As new releases continue to hit theatres, The Diplomat might soon be pushed down the list. However, for a film that didn’t have huge expectations, crossing ₹50 crore worldwide is still a notable achievement.
