Writer and filmmaker Tahira Kashyap, who is also the wife of Bollywood actor Ayushmann Khurrana, has shared that her breast cancer has returned. She had previously battled the disease and come out stronger, but she revealed on World Health Day that she is now facing it once again.

Tahira made the announcement through a heartfelt Instagram post. She shared a note that read:

“Seven-year itch or the power of regular screening – it’s a perspective. I’d like to go with the latter and suggest the same for everyone who needs to get regular mammograms. Round 2 for me… I still got this.”

In the caption of her post, Tahira chose to stay positive and hopeful. She wrote:

“When life gives you lemons, make lemonade. When life becomes too generous and throws them again at you, you squeeze them calmly into your favourite kala khatta drink and sip it with all the good intentions. Because one, it’s a better drink, and two, you know you will give it your best once again.”

Tahira didn’t shy away from calling it what it is—breast cancer. In fact, she used hashtags like #regularscreening, #mammogram, and #breastcancer to promote awareness and openness about the disease. She added that it’s important to take care of ourselves and be grateful, especially on a day like World Health Day.

Her post was met with a wave of love and support from friends, family, and fans. Ayushmann Khurrana commented under her post, calling her “his hero.” Her brother-in-law, actor Aparshakti Khurana, wrote, “Big tight hug bhabhi! We know Tussi ainu viii lamaaa paa laaonge,” which translates to “We know you’ll beat this again too.”

Fellow cancer survivor and actress Sonali Bendre showed her support with a simple but powerful message: “No words baby! Just sending love, strength, and prayers.” Other celebrities like Twinkle Khanna, Gajraj Rao, Guneet Monga, and Mini Mathur also shared encouraging comments and love for Tahira.

In a past interview with Filmfare, Tahira had opened up about how her first diagnosis changed her life. She shared how difficult it was to talk about cancer back then.

“When it happened to me, everyone was calling it the ‘C word.’ I was like, what is this C word? Why can’t people even say cancer? There was such a stigma around it.”

She said things have changed for the better now. People are more open and willing to talk about cancer, creating a space where awareness and support can grow.

With her honesty and strength, Tahira Kashyap continues to inspire many people across the world. Her message isn’t just about battling cancer, but also about staying positive, spreading awareness, and encouraging regular health check-ups—especially mammograms.

On World Health Day, her story serves as a powerful reminder that taking care of our health should be a priority, and that sharing our struggles can help others feel less alone.
