After the blockbuster success of Gadar 2, Sunny Deol is all set to return to the big screen with his next action-packed film, Jaat. The veteran actor won hearts with his powerful performance in Gadar 2, where fans loved his throwback vintage look. Now, all eyes are on Jaat, which is scheduled to release tomorrow. The film has already created solid buzz among audiences, especially in mass-dominated areas. However, the day 1 advance booking figures tell a different story.
Jaat Advance Booking Day 1: Still Below the 1 Crore Mark
The full-fledged advance booking for Jaat started recently, and the show count is quite impressive. As of now, nearly 4,800 shows have been listed across the country, and this number is expected to cross the 5,000 mark by the end of the day. But despite the high number of shows, the ticket sales haven’t matched the excitement in terms of pre-booking.
As of 10 AM IST today, Jaat has managed to earn around ₹90 lakh gross through advance bookings for its opening day. This figure does not include blocked or reserved seats. So far, the film has sold over 47,000 tickets across India for day 1.
Strong Performance in UP, Gujarat & Delhi-NCR
Looking at the state-wise and city-wise data, Uttar Pradesh is leading in terms of ticket sales. The state has contributed ₹13 lakh to the advance booking total, followed closely by Gujarat with ₹12 lakh. When it comes to cities, the Delhi-NCR region is at the top with ₹10 lakh worth of tickets sold, while Mumbai follows with ₹6 lakh.
These numbers indicate that Jaat is finding decent traction in certain regions, but the overall pre-release momentum is relatively low compared to Sunny Deol’s last outing.
Jaat vs Gadar 2: A Huge Gap in Advance Booking
It’s a bit unfair to compare Jaat with Gadar 2, considering Gadar 2 had the massive advantage of being a sequel to a cult classic. The hype was extraordinary, and that was reflected in its day 1 advance booking, which closed at a staggering ₹17.73 crore gross.
When we compare that to Jaat, the difference is massive. The upcoming film is currently trailing behind Gadar 2’s opening day advance bookings by approximately 94.92%. That’s a huge gap and shows how different the pre-release scenarios are for the two films.
Mass Centers Will Be Key for Jaat
But here’s an important point — Sunny Deol’s real audience is in the mass belts of India. These are the regions where advance bookings don’t matter much, as most of the audience prefers buying tickets directly at the counter on the day of the release. So, even if Jaat ends up with advance bookings of around ₹2 crore by the end of today, it can still have a solid opening if the walk-in audience shows up in large numbers.
Final Thoughts
Jaat might not be breaking advance booking records, but it has strong potential in the mass circuits. With Sunny Deol’s fan base and the right dose of action and drama, the film could surprise at the box office once the real-time footfalls begin.
