Saif Ali Khan’s son Ibrahim Ali Khan recently made his acting debut with the film Nadaaniyan, starring opposite Khushi Kapoor. The film was released on an OTT platform last month and was expected to be a promising start for the star kid. However, it received a lot of negative feedback from audiences and critics. Many viewers criticized the film’s dialogues, storyline, and even the performances, including Ibrahim’s.
While the film struggled to impress, Ibrahim’s aunt Soha Ali Khan shared her thoughts on how he should handle the backlash. During a recent interview, Soha was asked about the criticism Ibrahim is facing and what advice she would give him as a new actor in the industry.
Soha said, “First of all, you need to have thick skin in this industry. You have to learn how to deal with people’s opinions. If not, it’s better not to read the comments at all. But at the same time, sometimes it helps to read what people are saying. You can’t just work without any outside input. You have to be open to some criticism so that you can improve and move forward.”
She continued by saying, “It’s important to build some sort of emotional armour. Don’t shut yourself off from the world or only listen to people who praise you. It’s not healthy to be surrounded by only ‘yes-men.’ You must be open to hearing negative feedback too. Think about it deeply and use it to improve your skills. Don’t let one film’s success or failure define you. Understand where you can do better and keep working on your craft.”
Soha’s advice comes at a time when many star kids are under constant public scrutiny, and the pressure to succeed is high. Her words highlight the importance of staying grounded and focused on personal growth rather than instant fame.
Meanwhile, Soha Ali Khan is busy with her own film projects. She stars in the recently released Chhorii 2, alongside Nushrratt Bharuccha, Sourabh Goyal, and Jitendra Kumar. The film is directed by Vishal Furia and is currently streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
Though Chhorii 2 aims to talk about serious social issues like infanticide and child marriage, it received mixed reviews. Filmfare gave the movie a rating of 2.5 out of 5 stars, saying, “While it’s commendable that the film addresses such important topics, the execution feels weak. However, the performances are worth watching.”
With both Ibrahim and Soha making headlines—one for his debut and the other for her new film—it’s clear that the Khan family continues to stay active in the entertainment world. While Ibrahim’s journey has just begun, the guidance from an experienced family member like Soha might help him find his way forward, one step at a time.
