Sikandar, starring Salman Khan and Rashmika Mandanna, is now nearing the end of its box office run. Released on March 30, 2025, during the Eid holiday, the film had high expectations and was promoted as a grand action entertainer. But even after 15 days in theatres, it has failed to perform as expected.

A Disappointing Journey for Salman Khan’s Sikandar

Directed by AR Murugadoss and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, Sikandar was expected to earn over ₹125 crores during its opening weekend. However, even after two full weeks, the film has managed to collect only slightly more than that. This is far below the expectations for a Salman Khan film.

The third weekend has turned out to be extremely poor for Sikandar. On day 15 (third Sunday), the movie earned only ₹60 lakhs, which is just a small jump from the ₹40 lakhs it collected on day 14. Over the entire third weekend, it collected only ₹1.40 crores, which is considered a very low figure for a big-budget Bollywood film.

High Budget, Low Returns

The film was made on a massive budget of around ₹200 crores. Sajid Nadiadwala went all out to create an action-packed film, sparing no expense on visuals and stunts. Sadly, the weak storyline and lack of impactful performances turned audiences away. So far, Sikandar has only recovered about 64% of its total investment, which is a big setback.

Even with the Ambedkar Jayanti holiday offering a small boost, the movie is expected to earn only minimal amounts in the coming days. Once the weekday slump begins, the film’s earnings will drop even further. At this rate, it’s clear that Sikandar is running out of steam at the box office.

Tough Competition Ahead: Kesari Chapter 2 Release

What’s making things worse for Sikandar is the arrival of strong competition. Sunny Deol’s Jaat is currently leading in audience preference. But the real challenge begins on April 18, when Kesari Chapter 2 hits theatres. The upcoming courtroom drama stars Akshay Kumar, R Madhavan, and Ananya Panday, and it is already generating major buzz.

The “interest” meter on BookMyShow is showing a huge spike as the release date approaches, indicating that a large number of people are eagerly waiting to watch Kesari Chapter 2. Once it arrives in theatres, there’s very little chance Sikandar will be able to hold on to any screens.

Final Verdict: A Box Office Washout

In conclusion, Salman Khan’s Sikandar is heading toward a box office failure. Despite a festive release and a massive budget, the film couldn’t deliver the impact it promised. With low weekend collections and strong competition ahead, Sikandar will likely be out of theatres soon. Fans and the film industry had high hopes, but the numbers tell a different story.
