Shahid Kapoor, who made his OTT debut with the hit series Farzi, is all set to return with its second season. The show, created by popular director duo Raj & DK, marked Shahid’s successful entry into the world of web series. Whether it’s on the big screen or OTT, Shahid continues to impress fans with his powerful performances.
In Farzi, Shahid played Sunny, a talented small-time artist who starts printing fake currency with his best friend. Their illegal business soon attracts dangerous enemies, including a gangster named Mansoor and a tough cop, Michael. The crime thriller was a massive success and received praise from both audiences and critics.
Now, fans are eagerly waiting for Farzi Season 2, and the latest update has made the excitement even bigger. According to a report by Pinkvilla, Shahid Kapoor has charged a massive Rs 45 crore for the sequel. This is the highest fee he has ever received for a single project. Usually, Shahid charges between Rs 25 to 30 crore per film. However, the report states that he has a different pricing strategy for OTT platforms, which explains the higher amount.
The report also confirms that Farzi 2 will begin filming in December 2025. The delay is due to Raj & DK’s current project, Rakht Brahmand. As per a report by Mid-Day, once they complete that series, they will start working on Farzi 2. A source close to the production revealed, “Raj and DK are currently busy with Rakht Brahmand. After finishing that show, they will start pre-production for Farzi 2. The new season is likely to premiere on OTT in the second half of 2026.”
The first season of Farzi featured a star-studded cast including Vijay Sethupathi, Kay Kay Menon, Raashii Khanna, and Bhuvan Arora, apart from Shahid. It’s expected that many of the original cast members will return for Season 2 as the story continues from where it left off.
Meanwhile, Shahid Kapoor is also busy with other exciting projects before diving back into Farzi. He is currently wrapping up the shooting of Cocktail 2, the sequel to the 2012 hit film Cocktail. The new film stars Rashmika Mandanna and Kriti Sanon alongside him. Shahid is also filming Arjun Ustara, which features Triptii Dimri, Randeep Hooda, and veteran actor Nana Patekar in important roles.
With so many interesting projects lined up and a record-breaking fee for Farzi 2, Shahid Kapoor continues to be one of the most bankable stars in the industry. Fans are eagerly waiting to see what surprises the second season of Farzi has in store.
