Young actor Sangeeth Shobhan is enjoying the biggest success of his career so far. His latest movie Mad Square, directed by Kalyan Shankar, has turned into a blockbuster hit, winning hearts all over. The film’s success is not just bringing him fame but also making him a household name among Telugu cinema lovers.
Sangeeth’s journey in the film industry hasn’t been easy. He has worked hard over the years, showing his passion for acting. He appeared in films like Prema Vimaanam and Oka Chinna Family Story, but it was his role as DD in MAD that brought him into the limelight. Now, the sequel Mad Square has taken his popularity to the next level.
Talking about the success, Sangeeth said, “While we were shooting, we had a good feeling about the film. But we never expected it to be such a huge hit. The love people are showing during our theatre and college visits is amazing. It still hasn’t sunk in.”
He believes the film’s success proves that audiences are open to fun and quirky stories. The first MAD movie was also a big hit, and now Mad Square has proved once again that these types of entertainers can do well at the box office. “Films like Mad Square are light-hearted and fun to watch. We worked hard on the script to bring in humour and funny situations. I think that really connected with the audience,” Sangeeth added.
With this big win, more doors are opening for Sangeeth. He now has chances to try out different types of roles. He feels that being versatile is important for any actor who wants to have a long and successful career. “My journey has had ups and downs, but I’m always learning and trying to understand the industry better,” he shared.
Sangeeth comes from a film background. His late father, Shoban, was a popular director and gave Prabhas his first major hit Varsham in 2004. His brother, Santosh Shobhan, is also an actor. When asked about Santosh’s reaction to Mad Square, Sangeeth smiled and said, “He wasn’t in town when it released, but he kept checking the reviews and box office numbers. We share a great bond like millennial brothers. We don’t talk much about work at home but always keep each other in the loop.”
Sangeeth also shared a sweet moment with his mother. She was overjoyed after watching Mad Square and told him it would be a hit even before the film released. “She always believed in the film. Her confidence kept me strong,” he said.
While he’s still celebrating this big success, Sangeeth has already announced his next film. It will be directed by Manasa Sharma and produced by Niharika Konidela. The trio earlier worked together on the web series Oka Chinna Family Story, where Manasa was the writer.
“This new movie feels like a reunion,” Sangeeth said. “It’s going to be a fun, breezy entertainer with all the right commercial elements. I can’t wait to begin shooting.”
