Salman Khan’s much-hyped film Sikandar is turning out to be one of the biggest letdowns of 2025 in Bollywood. Despite high expectations and a massive budget of ₹200 crore, the film has underperformed at the box office. It is now in its fourth week of release, and the numbers are far from what was expected from a Salman Khan Eid release.

Day 23 Box Office Update – Drops Below ₹10 Lakhs in India
Sikandar saw a major dip in collections on its fourth Monday. The film earned just ₹6 lakhs on day 23, which is similar to what it earned on the previous Friday. This drop clearly shows that the movie has lost its momentum. So far, the film has made a total of ₹129.75 crores in India (net collection).
In terms of gross collections in India, the film has earned ₹153.10 crores. But these numbers are still not enough to cover the huge budget of the film.
Sikandar Not in the Top 50 All-Time Hindi Grossers
Despite Salman Khan’s star power, Sikandar has not managed to break into the list of the top 50 highest-grossing Hindi films in India. Right now, it is at the 82nd position. It recently managed to beat Stree, but it is still behind Akshay Kumar’s Rowdy Rathore, which earned ₹131 crores in its lifetime. At this pace, it will take more time to reach or pass that milestone.
Overseas Run Ends Early
The film had a short run in overseas markets. In just under 15 days, Sikandar ended its international theatrical journey. The total overseas gross collection stands at ₹58 crores, which is considered low for a Salman Khan film, especially one released during the Eid holiday.
Worldwide Collection Update
When you combine both domestic and overseas figures, the total worldwide gross for Sikandar is ₹211.10 crores. Here’s a quick look at the breakdown:
- India Net Collection: ₹129.75 crores
- India Gross Collection: ₹153.10 crores
- Overseas Gross Collection: ₹58 crores
- Total Worldwide Gross: ₹211.10 crores
Competing with Ajay Devgn’s Shaitaan
Now, Sikandar is aiming to beat the lifetime collection of Ajay Devgn’s 2024 hit film Shaitaan. That supernatural horror thriller earned ₹216.18 crores worldwide. However, Sikandar has already finished its overseas run and is nearing the end of its run in Indian theatres too. It is expected to wrap up with a final collection in the ₹215 crore range, which may not be enough to beat Shaitaan.
Final Thoughts
Sikandar had everything going for it – a superstar lead in Salman Khan, a promising co-star in Rashmika Mandanna, an Eid release, and a huge budget. But somehow, the film failed to strike a chord with the audience. With disappointing box office numbers and no strong word-of-mouth, it’s clear that Sikandar will be remembered more for its failure than its success.
