Robinhood Struggles at the Box Office Despite a Decent Hold

Nithiin and Sreeleela’s latest film, Robinhood, has not seen significant growth at the box office in its first three days. The heist action comedy has managed to earn a total of ₹7.10 crore so far, with daily collections ranging between ₹2 crore and ₹3 crore. While the numbers have not dropped drastically, the lack of a strong jump is concerning for the film’s success.

Nithiin’s Last Film Was a Disaster

Nithiin’s previous movie, Extra Ordinary Man (2023), was a disaster at the box office, collecting only ₹9.7 crore in its lifetime. His latest release, Robinhood, has not yet surpassed that figure, raising concerns about its long-term performance.

Robinhood Box Office Collection Day 3

On Sunday, March 30, the film saw a 34% increase in collections compared to the previous day. It earned ₹2.75 crore, a small jump but not enough to indicate a strong upward trend. With the Eid holiday approaching, the film might get a boost, but it remains uncertain whether it can sustain itself in the long run.

Three-Day Box Office Breakdown:

  • Day 1: ₹2.3 crore
  • Day 2: ₹2.05 crore
  • Day 3: ₹2.75 crore
  • Total: ₹7.10 crore

Robinhood’s Budget and Recovery Challenge

The film was reportedly made on a massive budget of ₹70 crore, which means it still needs to earn ₹62.9 crore to enter the profit zone. In percentage terms, Robinhood must recover 89.8% of its budget to be considered a successful venture. Given its current performance, this is a tough challenge, and the film risks becoming another box office flop for Nithiin.

Sreeleela’s Last Film Was a Blockbuster

Sreeleela’s previous theatrical release was Guntur Kaaram, starring Mahesh Babu. The film had a massive opening of ₹42 crore and went on to collect ₹127 crore in its lifetime. In comparison, Robinhood is struggling to cross even the opening-day collection of Guntur Kaaram. Achieving a similar lifetime total is out of reach unless the film sees an unexpected turnaround in the coming days.

Robinhood vs Mad Square – A Tough Battle at the Box Office

Adding to Robinhood’s struggles, it has faced tough competition from Narne Nithin’s Mad Square. The competing film has outperformed Robinhood by a 248% margin, further reducing its chances of a strong comeback. The poor start suggests that Robinhood is on the verge of becoming a box office disaster unless something drastic happens in the coming days.

Will Robinhood Survive or Sink?

Despite a weak start, Robinhood still has some hope, especially with the Eid holiday around the corner. If the film can maintain steady collections and show decent growth over the next few days, it might recover a significant part of its budget. However, the current numbers indicate that the film is struggling, and turning it into a hit seems like a tough task.
