Ranbir Kapoor’s Box Office Journey After COVID-19

So far, Ranbir Kapoor has had four theatrical releases since the pandemic, and only one of them failed at the box office. His comeback began with Shamshera, which unfortunately didn’t work with the audience. The film, produced by Yash Raj Films, was a big-budget period drama but collected only ₹43 crore net at the Indian box office. It was declared a flop.

But that was just the beginning. After Shamshera, Ranbir bounced back with Brahmastra, a fantasy action film directed by Ayan Mukerji. It was one of the most talked-about films and managed to earn ₹268 crore net in India. While the numbers were strong, the film was marked average because of its high budget.

Next came Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar, a romantic comedy starring Shraddha Kapoor opposite Ranbir. The film was a refreshing change for audiences and did a business of ₹146 crore net. But again, due to its cost, it also received an average verdict.

Then came the big one—Animal. This violent action-drama directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga became a massive hit. It earned a whopping ₹554 crore net at the Indian box office and was declared a super hit. The film’s success gave Ranbir one of the biggest blockbusters of his career.

Total Earnings & Success Ratio

If we add up all the collections from his four post-COVID releases:

  • Shamshera – ₹43 crore (Flop)
  • Brahmastra – ₹268 crore (Average)
  • Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar – ₹146 crore (Average)
  • Animal – ₹554 crore (Super hit)

Total Collection: ₹1011 crore net

That’s a huge achievement for any actor, especially post-pandemic, when the box office has become unpredictable.

Now let’s talk about his success ratio.

We use this simple formula:
[(Super-Hit + Hit + Average)/Total Releases] x 100 = Success Ratio

Ranbir has 3 successful films out of 4, so:
(3/4) x 100 = 75% success ratio

That’s an impressive score and proves that Ranbir Kapoor is one of the most reliable stars in Bollywood right now.

What’s Next for Ranbir Kapoor?

Ranbir isn’t slowing down anytime soon. He has some big projects lined up, including:

  • Ramayana – a mythological epic where he’s expected to play Lord Ram
  • Dhoom 4 – the latest installment of the hit action franchise
  • Animal Park – the sequel to Animal

With such exciting films coming up, it looks like Ranbir Kapoor’s box office journey is only going to get bigger and better.
