One of the most awaited films in Indian cinema, Ramayana, is all set to release next year during Diwali 2026. Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, known for blockbuster films like Dangal (2016) and Chhichhore (2019), Ramayana has already created huge excitement among fans thanks to its star-studded cast and grand scale.
In November last year, the makers had shared a teaser poster of the film. They also announced that Ramayana will be released in two parts — the first part will arrive on Diwali 2026, and the second part will hit theatres on Diwali 2027. A source revealed that the makers of Ramayana are planning to share a big update during the upcoming World Audio Visual & Entertainment Summit (WAVES Summit). This grand event will take place from May 1 to May 4, 2025. The organizers of WAVES Summit are working hard to make it one of the biggest events of the year, and inviting big names from the Indian film industry is part of their strategy.
The source said, “The team of Ramayana is thinking about unveiling a new poster or maybe even a video during the WAVES Summit. This will be a huge opportunity for the film to grab attention and for the summit to get even more media coverage. It will benefit both sides.”
However, the source also added a note of caution: “Plans are still being discussed. Last year, the makers were planning to make a big announcement on Ram Navami 2024, but it got delayed. So, while there’s a lot of excitement, nothing has been finalized yet. But WAVES Summit could be the perfect stage if everything falls into place.”
The cast of Ramayana is another reason why fans are so excited. Ranbir Kapoor will play Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi will be seen as Sita, Sunny Deol will portray Lord Hanuman, and Yash, the star of KGF, will take on the role of Ravana. With such strong actors, the expectations are sky-high.
