Raid 2, starring Ajay Devgn, Riteish Deshmukh, and Vaani Kapoor, is turning out to be a major hit at the box office. The crime thriller has shown strong growth since its release and had an impressive first weekend. Despite competition from other films like Kesari Chapter 2 and Jaat, Raid 2 is attracting the most audience across India.
Solid Weekend, Strong Monday Hold
Directed by Raj Kumar Gupta, Raid 2 made the most of the May Day holiday on its opening day. But the real test came on Monday, when the holiday period ended. According to early estimates, the film earned between ₹8 to ₹8.50 crore on Day 5. This marks a drop of around 34.86% to 38.69% from its Day 2 collection of ₹13.05 crore.
While a drop is expected after the weekend, the fall is less than 50%, which is a positive sign. It means that audiences are enjoying the film and it’s not just a weekend wonder. After five days, the total box office collection of Raid 2 in India stands between ₹81.83 crore to ₹82.33 crore.
Ahead of Kesari Chapter 2
Raid 2 may have already crossed Kesari Chapter 2, starring Akshay Kumar, which earned an estimated ₹82.18 crore in 18 days. If we take the higher estimate of ₹82.33 crore for Raid 2, Ajay Devgn’s film has officially passed it. Even if we go with the lower end of ₹81.83 crore, it needs only ₹35 lakh more to beat Kesari Chapter 2 — a target it’s expected to reach by Tuesday.
What’s Next for Raid 2?
Looking ahead, Raid 2 has a good window at the box office. There are no major Bollywood releases until Housefull 5 arrives on June 6, 2025. This gives the film almost an entire month to continue its strong run. With such momentum and positive word-of-mouth, Raid 2 could climb even higher in the list of 2025’s top-grossing Bollywood movies.
