The recent terror attack in Pahalgam, Kashmir, shocked the entire country. On Tuesday afternoon, gunmen opened fire on a group of tourists, killing 26 innocent civilians, including two foreigners and two local residents. The horrifying incident took place at around 2:30 pm, when attackers came down from the nearby hills and started shooting at people visiting one of Kashmir’s most popular tourist spots.

Celebrities Condemn the Attack

The tragic event has left many heartbroken. Indian and Pakistani celebrities have come forward to express their grief and support for the victims’ families.

Fawad Khan, who is getting ready for his return to Bollywood with the romantic film “Abir Gulaal”, was one of the first Pakistani stars to react. On Instagram, he wrote in his Story:

“Deeply saddened to hear the news of the heinous attack in Pahalgam. Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims of this horrifying incident, and we pray for strength and healing for their families in this difficult time.”

His heartfelt message gained attention, especially since there’s rising anger online over the release of his upcoming film. Many people are now calling for a boycott of “Abir Gulaal”, which also stars Vaani Kapoor and was expected to be Fawad’s comeback to Indian cinema after 9 years.

Boycott Calls Intensify

Ashoke Pandit, President of the Indian Film & Television Directors’ Association, made a strong statement following the attack. He said:

“This incident is an act of war against the nation. We, as a federation, have requested with folded hands to not work with Pakistanis. They come up with excuses like art and community, but the nation must come first. We will issue an order that anyone who works with Pakistani artistes will be boycotted by the industry.”

This statement has added fuel to the ongoing debate about whether Pakistani artists should be allowed to work in India, especially during times of rising tension.

Stars like Shah Rukh Khan, Katrina Kaif, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Ranveer Singh, Akshay Kumar, Janhvi Kapoor, Vicky Kaushal, Karan Johar, and Sanjay Dutt expressed deep sorrow.

Actors from South India, such as Allu Arjun, Jr NTR, and Ram Charan, also condemned the attack. Pakistani stars like Hania Aamir, Mawra Hocane, and Farhan Saeed joined their Indian counterparts in sending prayers and condolences.
