The Telugu film industry in 2025 continues to face setbacks, and the latest film to add to the list is Tamannaah Bhatia’s supernatural thriller Odela 2. Despite some expectations, the film has performed very poorly at the box office, earning just ₹4.29 crore in its first six days.
Directed by Ashok Teja, Odela 2 is the sequel to the 2022 OTT release Odela Railway Station. Unlike the first part, this time the makers aimed big with a theatrical release and a much higher budget. But unfortunately, the movie has failed to attract audiences, and the numbers are now a cause of serious concern.
Odela 2 Budget & Recovery
The film is made on a budget of ₹25 crore, but it has managed to recover only 18.8% of its total cost so far. With just ₹4.29 crore in its kitty, there is still a huge gap of more than ₹20 crore to break even. At this point, it seems almost impossible for the movie to reach that mark, making it one of the biggest box office failures of the year so far.
Odela 2 Box Office Collection – Daywise Report
Here’s a detailed look at the film’s performance over its six-day run:
- Day 1 (Thursday): ₹90 lakh
- Day 2 (Friday): ₹85 lakh
- Day 3 (Saturday): ₹75 lakh
- Day 4 (Sunday): ₹90 lakh
- Day 5 (Monday): ₹47 lakh
- Day 6 (Tuesday): ₹42 lakh
➡ Total Collection: ₹4.29 crore
The trend shows a clear dip in numbers after the weekend, with each weekday witnessing a steep fall. If this continues, the film might wrap up its run soon without making any significant improvement.
Comparison with Tamannaah Bhatia’s Previous Telugu Release
Tamannaah Bhatia’s last major Telugu release was Bhola Shankar in 2023, alongside Chiranjeevi. That film had collected ₹30.63 crore at the box office. Compared to that, Odela 2 has earned just 14% of that total so far.
In fact, Odela 2 stands as one of the lowest-grossing films led by a star actress like Tamannaah in recent years. The lack of buzz, poor word of mouth, and a storyline that failed to connect with viewers have all contributed to its downfall.
A Tough Year for Telugu Cinema in 2025
2025 has already seen a few flops at the Telugu box office, and Odela 2 is the latest film to face this unfortunate fate. With each passing day, the film’s chances of revival are shrinking.
Unless something dramatic happens, Odela 2 is all set to end its theatrical run as a major box office disaster in the Telugu film industry.
