They say dialogues have the power to change the entire course of a film, and that’s exactly what happened in Kesari Chapter 2. In an exclusive chat with Koimoi, director Karan Singh Tyagi opened up about one of the most powerful and talked-about lines from the film.

In one of the key scenes, Akshay Kumar, who plays the role of C. Sankaran Nair, delivers a fiery dialogue:
“Get the F*ck Out Of My Country.”
This bold statement has become one of the highlights of the film. Akshay Kumar’s strong performance perfectly captures the anger and spirit of the revolutionary character he portrays.

However, many people have questioned whether such strong language would have been used during that time. Could an Indian freedom fighter really use such a harsh word back then?

Karan Singh Tyagi explained the thought process behind including this controversial word. Talking about the research that went into it, he said,
“First, we checked whether the word ‘fck’ even existed during that time, and it did. It was in public use as early as the 16th century.”*

He further added,
“C. Sankaran Nair’s life was full of bold moments. He was known for being fearless, rebellious, and radical in his views. It felt right to have him speak in such a powerful way in the film.”

The director also shared that real-life incidents from Nair’s life inspired the film’s dialogues.
“There’s a story where Nair openly told the Viceroy to fill his cabinet with ‘yes men.’ This was a daring thing to do at a time when Indians were expected to be submissive. We wanted to capture that fearless attitude,” he said.

When asked if C. Sankaran Nair actually said “Get the F*ck Out Of My Country,” Karan clarified,
“In spirit, yes. Maybe not those exact words, but the emotion was definitely there. That line represents the anger, frustration, and courage of every Indian living under British rule.”

He added,
“We feel that the word ‘fck’ in this dialogue reflects the collective rage of a new, aggressive India. An India that doesn’t stay silent but speaks up boldly against oppression. That’s why it was so important for us to use it in the film.”*

Kesari Chapter 2 stars Akshay Kumar, R Madhavan, Ananya Panday, and many others. Directed by Karan Singh Tyagi and produced by Karan Johar along with Leo Media Collective, the film brings to life one of the darkest moments in Indian history — the Jallianwala Bagh massacre.

With powerful performances and intense storytelling, Kesari Chapter 2 aims to remind audiences of the sacrifices made by Indians during the freedom struggle. The film captures the spirit of revolution, bravery, and the undying hunger for independence.
