Martial arts legend Jackie Chan is back in action—and this time, he’s returning to one of his most beloved roles. After a 15-year break from The Karate Kid universe, Chan is stepping back into the shoes of Mr. Han for the upcoming film The Karate Kid: Legends. And he couldn’t be more excited.

“I was super excited to come back,” Chan said. “It’s been almost 15 years!”

This new movie takes a fresh turn by moving the story from China to the busy streets of New York City. Mr. Han, now in a new environment, meets Daniel LaRusso (once again played by Ralph Macchio). The film is set after the ending of the popular Cobra Kai series and brings together old and new characters in a story full of heart, action, and cultural connection.

“We both aged 15 years, that’s for sure!” Chan joked about the long break between movies. “Now, Mr. Han is in New York. But he’s still the same caring teacher, always looking out for his students.”

At the center of the story is a new character, Li Fong, played by rising star Ben Wang. Li is a skilled kung fu student from Beijing who moves to New York after a personal tragedy. As he tries to adjust to his new life, Li gets caught up in a local karate tournament. With help from both Mr. Han and LaRusso, he begins a journey that mixes Eastern and Western martial arts styles.

Jackie Chan had high praise for his young co-star. “Ben must have done something right to get this role. He’s a really good kid. He learns quickly and stays humble. He worked hard to bring Li Fong to life.”

The movie builds up to a powerful final scene featuring an intense rooftop fight. This moment not only shows how far Li has come but also highlights the film’s deeper messages—about overcoming challenges, finding mentors, and bridging cultures.

Of course, fans of Jackie Chan know to expect amazing action. When asked about the fight scenes, Chan kept things secret. “You haven’t seen anything like this in 15 years! I can’t give too much away. But there’s a lot of great action, and also friendship and teamwork. When people come together and help each other, something magical happens.”

Even after all these years, Jackie Chan is still doing his own stunts. “That’s who I am,” he said proudly. “I’ll never stop. After doing this for 64 years, it’s all in your heart, your soul, and your muscle memory.”

The Karate Kid: Legends brings back everything fans love—martial arts, emotional stories, and unforgettable characters. With Jackie Chan and Ralph Macchio joining forces, and Ben Wang stepping up as the next generation, this movie promises to be a must-watch for fans old and new.
