In his first exclusive interview with Filmfare, Ibrahim Ali Khan spoke honestly about his journey into the film world, growing up with fame, and how he plans to create his own path in Bollywood. Featured on the cover of this month’s Filmfare issue, Ibrahim talked about everything from comparisons with his father Saif Ali Khan to his hopes for the future.

When asked about people constantly comparing him to his father—especially their similar looks—Ibrahim responded with confidence. “I take it positively because my dad is a very good-looking man,” he said with a smile. “I don’t think these comparisons will go on forever. My aim is to do some really good work by the time I’m 30 and make a name for myself. Honestly, I already have my own name and my own face. Do you think I’ll cry just because I look like him? Of course not. I’m very proud of him and proud to be his son.”

Even though some critics have said that Ibrahim’s performance in his debut film, Nadaaniyan, was stronger than Saif’s early work, he stayed humble. “Thank you, but I’m not going to say I’m better than him. Definitely not,” he said. He added, “I saw a video on social media where they compared a scene from my first film to my dad in Hum Tum. But come on—he won a National Award for that movie! You can’t compare my first film to that. I also wanted to perform like that, and maybe one day I will. That’s the level I want to reach. But even if I don’t right now, it’s okay. People can’t expect me to match his peak performance right away.”

Ibrahim also said that it’s not just Saif’s looks that made him a superstar, but the powerful roles he’s played over the years. “He’s a great actor. And maybe I’ve got a little bit of that talent from him too,” he added. “I just want to work hard, do great work, and show the world what I can do. I know I have it in me.”

When talking about his bond with his father, Ibrahim said, “My dad is super cool. He’s very relaxed and easy-going. But if something goes wrong, he can be strict. Still, he’s usually chill. But my mom? She’s my everything. She looks after me, and whatever I am today, it’s all because of her.”

Ibrahim made his Bollywood debut with the coming-of-age film Nadaaniyan, where he starred opposite Khushi Kapoor. The movie was directed by Shauna Gautam and produced by Karan Johar. With his first film released, Ibrahim seems focused and confident about his future in the film industry.

He knows that comparisons will always be there, but he’s ready to prove himself with hard work and passion. As he steps into the spotlight, Ibrahim Ali Khan’s journey has just begun, and he’s determined to make his own mark—one role at a time.
