In a recent chat on In the Ring With Filmfare, Bollywood actor Imran Khan shared a personal and relatable moment about being a dad — and how it changed the way he looks at children’s TV shows. Becoming a father made him see things differently, especially when it comes to the kind of content kids are exposed to at a young age.
Imran opened up about watching cartoons with his daughter, Imara. What used to be just background noise for him is now something he pays close attention to. One cartoon, in particular, made him pause and think — Paw Patrol, a popular show his daughter loves.
While watching it, Imran noticed something troubling. He said, “All the boy dogs are doing the stuff and the girl dog is not getting the footage.” That simple observation hit him hard. He realized that even in fun and colorful kids’ shows, gender roles are being taught very early. The male characters were shown as heroes going on missions, while the one female dog had a much smaller role.
This made Imran more aware of what kind of messages are being sent to children. Now, as a parent, he’s more careful about choosing shows and stories that show strong female characters. He wants his daughter Imara to see girls taking the lead and being just as brave, smart, and important as the boys.
The actor also took a moment to reflect on his own journey in the film industry. Many people still remember him as a child actor in his uncle Aamir Khan’s films like Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak and Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikander. But it was the 2008 romantic film Jaane Tu… Ya Jaane Na that truly launched his career as a lead actor.
That movie made him a favorite among young fans and helped him step out of his famous uncle’s shadow. It gave him his own identity in Bollywood and showed that he had something unique to offer.
The interview gave fans a rare look at a more thoughtful and emotional side of Imran Khan. It wasn’t about the fame or the spotlight. It was about growth, change, and the impact of being a parent. His daughter has not only brought him joy but also helped him see the world in a new way — through a lens of fairness, equality, and awareness.
In the Ring With Filmfare continues to bring out these honest and meaningful moments from celebrities. For Imran, this conversation was a chance to talk about something deeper than movies — a chance to talk about how becoming a father opened his eyes and made him want a better world for the next generation.
