In an old interview from 1989 with Movie magazine (as mentioned by Hindustan Times), Madhuri was asked if she would ever marry Anil Kapoor. Her answer was clear and quite interesting.
She said, “No! I wouldn’t marry someone like him. For one thing, he is too hypersensitive; I would like my husband to be cool. As for Anil, I have done so many films with him, so I am comfortable with him. I can even joke with him about our supposed affair.”
This statement shows how well they understood each other as co-stars and friends. Madhuri appreciated her comfort level with Anil but never saw him as someone she could marry.
For those who may not know, Anil Kapoor was already married to Sunita Kapoor before he started working with Madhuri Dixit. Even though the media often talked about their chemistry and spread rumors, there was never anything romantic between them in real life. Their relationship was purely professional and full of respect.
After many years, Madhuri and Anil came together again on the big screen in the 2019 film Total Dhamaal. It was a reunion that fans had been waiting for after more than a decade.
On the personal front, Madhuri Dixit is happily married to Dr. Shriram Nene. She lives a peaceful life with her family and continues to charm fans with her occasional appearances in films and shows.
