Bollywood actor Harshvardhan Rane has spoken out about the upcoming sequel to his hit 2016 film Sanam Teri Kasam. The actor recently shared that he will not return for Sanam Teri Kasam 2 if Mawra Hocane, his original co-star, is cast again.
This decision comes after Mawra Hocane made controversial comments against India on social media. In response, Harshvardhan took to Instagram to share his feelings and explain why he cannot be part of the sequel if Mawra is involved.
Harshvardhan Rane’s Strong Message on Instagram
In a heartfelt Instagram post, Harshvardhan wrote:
“While I am grateful for the experience, however, as things stand, and after reading the direct comments made about my country, I have made a decision to respectfully decline to be a part of Sanam Teri Kasam part 2 if there is any possibility of the previous cast being repeated.”
He also shared a screenshot of Mawra Hocane’s post where she criticized India’s military action, known as Operation Sindoor. In her post, Mawra had said:
“Strongly condemn India’s cowardly attack on Pakistan… Innocent civilians have lost their lives. May Allah protect us all… may sense prevail. Ya Allah ho Ya Hafizo. #PakistanZindabad.”
These comments upset Harshvardhan deeply. He made it clear that, while he respects people from all countries, he will not support hateful remarks about India.
“I respect all artists and humans of this country, that country, Kenya and even Mars, but this kind of derogatory remarks about my country by anyone is unpardonable,” he added.
He also said he doesn’t mind losing followers on Instagram if it means standing up for his country.
Is Mawra Hocane Still Part of the Sequel?
So far, Mawra Hocane has not responded publicly to Harshvardhan’s statement. But her earlier remarks have definitely sparked controversy online. Fans are now wondering whether she will be recast in the sequel or not.
According to a recent report from Times of India, Shraddha Kapoor is being considered to replace Mawra in Sanam Teri Kasam 2. However, nothing has been officially confirmed yet.
