Bollywood actor Govinda, fondly known as Chi Chi, has always shared a deep emotional bond with his late mother, Nirmala Devi. Known by her stage name Dulari, she was a celebrated classical singer and actress, honored with the prestigious Padma Shri award. Sadly, she passed away in 1996 at the age of 69. But in a surprising and emotional moment years later, Govinda reportedly spoke to her spirit on a film set—and it left everyone stunned.

This lesser-known incident took place in 2009, during the filming of Life Partner, a romantic comedy directed by Rumy Jaffery. The film starred Fardeen Khan, Tusshar Kapoor, Genelia D’Souza, and Prachi Desai alongside Govinda. While Life Partner may not have been one of the biggest hits of Govinda’s career, the spooky experience he allegedly had on set has stayed in the memories of those who were present.

According to a report by Mid-Day, Govinda strongly believed that his late mother visited him on the set of Life Partner in Mumbai. What’s even more intriguing is that his brother, Kirti Kumar, also shared this belief and played a key role in bringing her “presence” to the set.

A close source from the set revealed the details of the chilling incident. “As usual, Govinda arrived late on set. During one of the breaks, everyone saw his brother Kirti Kumar arrive in his car. He stepped out, opened the backseat door, and waited—as if someone was getting out. But no one was there. Then, Kirti acted as if he was holding someone’s hand and walked toward the set. It looked like he was walking with someone invisible.”

Everyone was stunned, but no one said a word. The source continued, “Govinda stood up and said, ‘Mummy aa gayi’ (Mom has arrived). He walked up to his brother and bent down to touch his mother’s feet—though no one else could see her. He then pulled up a chair and spoke to it for nearly two hours, as if his mother was sitting there.”

According to witnesses, the entire cast and crew maintained a straight face, unsure of what to do or say. After some time, Govinda told his brother to take their mother back home. Kirti Kumar then escorted the “invisible” presence out of the set and left.

Whether you believe in the supernatural or not, this moment was deeply emotional and surreal for everyone involved. It showed just how close Govinda was to his mother and how her loss left a lasting impact on him.

On the personal front, Govinda has recently been in the news for rumored marital issues with his wife, Sunita Ahuja. But it’s moments like this—filled with emotion, mystery, and love—that show the actor’s deeply sensitive and spiritual side.
