Santhanam’s latest Tamil horror-comedy DD Next Level, also known as Devil’s Double Next Level, is slowly moving towards the ₹20 crore mark at the box office. However, the pace of its earnings has been quite slow, and the film is still struggling to recover its total budget.
Day 10 Box Office Collection
On its 10th day in theatres, DD Next Level earned around ₹65 lakhs in India. This is a 32% drop from Day 9, when it collected ₹97 lakhs. With this, the film’s total India net box office collection has reached ₹16.25 crore.
If we include taxes, the gross box office collection of the movie stands at around ₹19.17 crore.
Although the movie continues to earn, it needs strong word of mouth and better audience support to increase its earnings. The film is also facing tough competition from Soori’s movie Maaman, which was released at the same time.
Day-wise Box Office Collection (India Net)
Here’s how DD Next Level performed each day at the Tamil Nadu box office:
- Day 1: ₹3 crore
- Day 2: ₹3.1 crore
- Day 3: ₹3.2 crore
- Day 4: ₹1.4 crore
- Day 5: ₹1.25 crore
- Day 6: ₹1.02 crore
- Day 7: ₹92 lakhs
- Day 8: ₹74 lakhs
- Day 9: ₹97 lakhs
- Day 10: ₹65 lakhs
➡ Total (10 Days): ₹16.25 crore
Budget Recovery Status
DD Next Level was made on a budget of ₹20 crore. With ₹16.25 crore earned so far, the movie has recovered around 81% of its budget from its India net collection. It is still ₹3.75 crore short of breaking even.
While the movie had a strong start in its first three days, the collections started dropping from Day 4 onward. The film is in need of positive reviews and strong public support to sustain at the box office for another week and cover the remaining amount.
Current Box Office Position
Despite the slowdown, DD Next Level is holding on with decent numbers, especially considering the competition from other Tamil films. But unless it sees a pickup in collections over the next few days, the film might end its theatrical run without achieving full recovery.
Conclusion
Santhanam’s DD Next Level has managed to attract audiences with its horror and comedy mix, but the film now depends on word of mouth, weekend footfall, and reduced competition to reach the ₹20 crore mark and possibly turn a profit.
Let’s see if the movie can pick up pace and manage to hit the break-even point in the coming days.
