Sunny Deol and Randeep Hooda’s new movie Jaat has found itself in trouble. A scene in the film has upset the Christian community, leading to strong criticism and even legal action. The controversial scene shows violence taking place inside a church, and many people felt that it disrespected their religious beliefs.

In the scene, Randeep Hooda’s character, who plays the villain, is seen standing under a crucifix while people are praying in the background. He is shown threatening and scaring the people inside the church. This scene has angered several Christian groups, who believe it was made to intentionally hurt their religious sentiments.
As a result, a police complaint was filed (FIR) against the lead actors Sunny Deol, Randeep Hooda, Viineet Kumar Singh, the director Gopichand Malineni, and the producers of the movie. The FIR was registered under Section 299 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), which deals with actions meant to cause harm.
Amid this controversy, Jaat’s director Gopichand Malineni has spoken out. He said that when the film’s trailer was sent to the censor board, there were no objections at that time. However, later on, the censor board told the team to make some changes in the film. “The censor board didn’t say anything about the trailer, but later they told us to blur the background in the film. We did that even before the public raised any issues,” Gopichand told Mid-Day.
He also said that filmmakers only want to entertain people, not hurt them. “If a film wants to be a big hit, it has to be liked by everyone. No director wants to make people upset or disrespect any religion,” he added.
To calm things down, the makers of Jaat have taken quick action. They released an official statement saying the scene has now been removed from the film. “Our aim was never to hurt anyone’s religious feelings. We are very sorry, and we have immediately deleted the scene from the movie. We sincerely apologize to anyone whose beliefs were affected,” the statement read.
Jaat marks Gopichand Malineni’s debut in Hindi cinema. He is known for his work in Telugu films. The movie stars Sunny Deol, Randeep Hooda, Saiyami Kher, Regina Cassandra, Jagapathi Babu, Ramya Krishnan, and Prashant Bajaj in key roles.
Even though the film has received attention for the wrong reasons, fans are still curious about the action-packed drama. Whether the film can bounce back from this controversy remains to be seen.
