Chiyaan Vikram is finally seeing some relief at the box office with his latest movie, Veera Dheera Sooran. After the disappointing performance of Thangalaan, fans were eager to see if this action thriller could turn things around. While it hasn’t been a massive hit yet, the film is doing fairly well and has collected a decent amount in its first eight days.

Let’s take a look at how the film has performed so far and whether it can surpass Cobra to avoid being Vikram’s lowest-grossing movie in recent times.

Veera Dheera Sooran – Box Office Performance in the Opening Week

The film had a slow start, collecting just ₹3.20 crore on its opening day. However, thanks to positive reviews and good word-of-mouth, it picked up on the second day with ₹3.70 crore. The momentum continued over the weekend, earning ₹5.50 crore on day 3 and ₹6.75 crore on day 4, marking strong growth.

Monday (day 5) was an Eid holiday, which helped the film collect ₹4.50 crore, but from day 6 onwards, there was a noticeable dip. The collections dropped to ₹2.75 crore on day 6, followed by ₹2.10 crore on day 7. On day 8, the film saw another decline, bringing in just ₹1.64 crore, as per Sacnilk’s estimates.

By the end of its 8-day extended opening week, Veera Dheera Sooran managed to collect ₹30.14 crore at the Indian box office. While it’s not a blockbuster number, it still gives the movie a chance to shine in its second weekend.

Can Veera Dheera Sooran Beat Cobra?

With ₹30.14 crore already in the bag, Veera Dheera Sooran now has the opportunity to avoid becoming Chiyaan Vikram’s lowest-grossing movie in the post-pandemic era. As of now, Cobra holds that title with a total collection of ₹43.47 crore.

This means Veera Dheera Sooran needs at least ₹13.34 crore more to surpass Cobra. If the film manages to sustain its momentum in the second weekend, it could achieve this milestone. However, competition from new releases might make it challenging.

Chiyaan Vikram’s Box Office Record After COVID-19

Here’s a quick look at Vikram’s movie performances at the box office post-COVID:

  1. Ponniyin Selvan (2022) – ₹266.70 crore
  2. Ponniyin Selvan 2 (2023) – ₹182 crore
  3. Thangalaan (2024) – ₹46.15 crore
  4. Cobra (2022) – ₹43.47 crore
  5. Veera Dheera Sooran (2025) – ₹30.14 crore (Still running)

What’s Next for Veera Dheera Sooran?

The film’s performance in the second weekend will be crucial. If it continues to pull in decent numbers, it can avoid being labeled as Vikram’s lowest-grossing movie. The audience response has been fairly positive so far, which works in its favor.

With more competition from upcoming Tamil films, Veera Dheera Sooran needs strong word-of-mouth to sustain itself at the box office.
