Anil Kapoor’s Mother Nirmal Kapoor passes away at 90: A life full of love, sacrifice, and family.

Veteran Bollywood actor Anil Kapoor’s mother, Nirmal Kapoor, has passed away at the age of 90. She took her last breath at around 5:45 PM at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Mumbai. Though the exact cause of her death has not been revealed, reports say she died due to age-related health issues.

Nirmal Kapoor was the wife of late Surinder Kapoor, a well-known film producer and the former President of the Film & Television Producers Guild of India (1995–2001). She was the backbone of the Kapoor family and lived a quiet life away from the limelight. Despite this, she often appeared in family photos and videos that regularly went viral on social media.

The Kapoor family has not yet made an official statement about her death. However, several members of the family have been spotted gathering at her home, indicating that the family is mourning this huge loss. Nirmal Kapoor is survived by her children—Boney Kapoor, Anil Kapoor, Sanjay Kapoor, and Reena Marwah. She also leaves behind a loving legacy of grandchildren including Arjun Kapoor, Sonam Kapoor Ahuja, Rhea Kapoor, Harsh Varrdhan Kapoor, Janhvi Kapoor, Anshula Kapoor, Khushi Kapoor, and Mohit Marwah.

Just a few months ago, in September 2024, the Kapoor family came together to celebrate Nirmal Kapoor’s 90th birthday. Many of her grandchildren shared sweet messages and photos on social media, expressing their love and admiration for her. Anil Kapoor also took to Instagram to share pictures with his mother, writing, “90 years of love, strength, and endless sacrifices. Your presence fills our lives with joy and positivity every day.”

Anil Kapoor has spoken about his mother’s hard work and sacrifices in the past. In a 2022 appearance on a reality show, he got emotional while remembering how she used to sew clothes for him and his siblings. He recalled, “I remember the sewing machine. It worked by hand and foot. Just like you make pants and shirts, my mom used to make clothes for me. And today, here I am.”

Nirmal Kapoor’s journey is one of quiet strength and deep love. Even though she stayed away from the public eye, her presence was always strongly felt in her family’s lives. Her passing marks the end of an era for the Kapoor family, one of Bollywood’s most influential film dynasties.
