Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt recently shared a heartfelt message on social media, expressing her deep emotions during India’s current conflict with Pakistan. Her post touched the hearts of many as she honoured the bravery of Indian soldiers and the silent strength of their mothers.
This message comes after a tragic terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Kashmir, on April 22, where 26 Indian civilians lost their lives when terrorists opened fire on a group of tourists. In response to this attack, the Indian armed forces launched Operation Sindoor on May 7, targeting and destroying nine terrorist camps located in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).
Alia, known for her role in the patriotic film Raazi, began her note by talking about the heavy silence and tension that people across the country have been feeling. She wrote,
“The last few nights have felt… different. There’s a certain stillness in the air when a nation holds its breath. And over the past few days, we’ve felt that stillness. That quiet anxiety. That pulse of tension that hums beneath every conversation, behind every news notification, around every dinner table.”
She highlighted how this unease comes from knowing that soldiers are on the frontlines, risking their lives to protect the country.
“We have felt the weight of knowing that somewhere, out there in the mountains, our soldiers are awake, alert, and in danger. While most of us are tucked into our homes, there are men and women standing in the dark, guarding our sleep with theirs. With their lives. And that reality… it does something to you. Because you realise this isn’t just bravery. It’s sacrifice.”
Alia didn’t stop there. She also spoke about the often-overlooked courage of the soldiers’ mothers.
“Behind every uniform is a mother who hasn’t slept either. A mother who knows her child is facing a night not of lullabies, but of uncertainty. Of tension. Of silence that can shatter in an instant.”
Her message was especially moving as it came shortly after Mother’s Day. While many were celebrating with flowers and hugs, Alia reminded everyone of the mothers who raised brave hearts and now live with quiet pride and pain. She offered her condolences to the families who have lost loved ones in the conflict.
“We mourn the lives that have been lost—soldiers who will never come home—whose names are now etched in the soul of this country. May their families find strength in the nation’s gratitude.”
Alia concluded her note by hoping for peace and sending love to all the parents who are silently praying for their children’s safety.
“So tonight, and every night forward, we hope for less silence born of tension, and more silence born of peace. And send love to every parent out there holding prayers, holding back tears. Because your strength moves this nation more than you’ll ever know. We stand together. For our protectors. For India. Jai Hind.”
Her powerful words have struck a chord with many, as the nation stands united in support of its soldiers and their families.
