The teaser for Kesari: Chapter 2 has sparked a major conversation online — not just for its powerful visuals, but for one particular moment. Akshay Kumar’s character delivers a sharp “F**k You!” in response to an insult, and audiences are reacting strongly. Some viewers found the moment intense and fitting, while others are questioning whether such strong language belongs in a historical drama.

However, Akshay Kumar has now addressed the controversy and explained why that line was so important to the story.

Akshay Kumar Breaks Silence on Controversial Dialogue

At the trailer launch of Kesari: Chapter 2, Akshay Kumar responded to the criticism over the use of the F-word. Speaking to the press, the actor explained that the scene was meant to show the deep anger and frustration felt by Indian soldiers during British rule.

He pointed out that audiences were quick to notice the curse word but seemed to overlook the real insult in the scene: being called a “slave.”

“Yes, I used this word,” Akshay said. “I’m surprised that you noticed this, but not the phrase ‘you are still a slave.’ Isn’t that the bigger abuse? There’s no worse insult than that. I would have been happier if people focused on that word instead. In those times, even getting shot would have hurt less than being called a slave.”

His statement shows that the line wasn’t added just for shock value — it was meant to highlight the pain and rage of Indian soldiers fighting against colonial oppression.

Akshay’s Deep Personal Connection to the Story

The actor also revealed his personal connection to the events portrayed in the film. Though he was born in Old Delhi, Akshay shared that his father was born just opposite Jallianwala Bagh, and his grandfather actually witnessed the massacre.

“This film is very personal to me,” he said. “My father was born across Jallianwala Bagh in a lane called Aaloo Katra Gali. My grandfather saw the events of the massacre. These stories were passed down from my grandfather to my father, and then to me. Director Karan Singh Tyagi also shared many untold stories during filming. We’ve made this film with a lot of emotion and anger.”

About Kesari: Chapter 2

Directed by Karan Singh Tyagi, Kesari: Chapter 2 tells the lesser-known story surrounding the Jallianwala Bagh massacre. The film is inspired by the book The Case That Shook The Empire by Raghu Palat and Pushpa Palat. It aims to shed light on the bravery, pain, and sacrifices of Indians during one of the darkest moments of British colonial rule.

Initially set to release on March 14, 2025, the film’s launch was postponed due to unavoidable delays. It is now scheduled to hit theaters on April 18, 2025.

Conclusion

Whether or not audiences agree with the use of strong language in Kesari: Chapter 2, Akshay Kumar’s explanation adds powerful context to the scene. With a deeply personal connection to the story and a clear emotional drive behind the film, it’s clear that the team behind Kesari: Chapter 2 wants to honor the history and sacrifice of those who lived through it — with honesty, intensity, and passion.
