Ajith Kumar’s latest Tamil film, Good Bad Ugly, is performing strongly at the Indian box office. The film took full advantage of the holiday on Sunday (Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Jayanti) and added a solid number to its total earnings. While there was a slight drop in collections compared to Sunday, the dip from Friday was very small, which is a good sign for its box office journey.

Directed by Adhik Ravichandran, the action-packed Kollywood film was released on April 10. Despite receiving mixed to negative reviews from critics, who called it more of a fan-pleasing movie than a solid story-driven one, Good Bad Ugly has managed to attract the audience to theatres in large numbers.

Strong Box Office Collection in 5 Days

According to Sacnilk, the film collected ₹14.56 crore on its fifth day, thanks to the public holiday. This is just a 2.93% drop compared to Friday’s ₹15 crore, which shows how well the film is holding up. However, compared to Sunday’s ₹22.30 crore, the drop is larger at 34.70%, but this is expected as Sunday was a peak day.

So far, Good Bad Ugly has earned a total of ₹100.86 crore net in India in just 5 days, officially entering the 100 crore club. In gross terms, the total collection stands at ₹119.01 crore.

Here is the day-wise breakdown of the Indian net collections:

  • Day 1 (Opening Day): ₹29.25 crore
  • Day 2: ₹15 crore
  • Day 3: ₹19.75 crore
  • Day 4 (Sunday): ₹22.30 crore
  • Day 5 (Holiday): ₹14.56 crore

Total: ₹100.86 crore (net)

Ajith Kumar Scores His Third Century After COVID-19

With this film, Ajith Kumar has now delivered his third 100-crore film in the post-COVID era. His earlier two blockbusters—Valimai and Thunivu—also crossed the ₹100 crore mark in India. Unfortunately, he couldn’t achieve a hat-trick back then, as Vidaamuyarchi failed to perform well and ended its run with under ₹90 crore.

Ready to Beat Dragon as 2025’s Top Tamil Film

Good Bad Ugly has now joined Dragon as the only Tamil films in 2025 to enter the 100 crore club. Dragon currently holds the title of the highest-grossing Tamil film of the year with ₹102.48 crore net. But with just under ₹2 crore needed to surpass it, Good Bad Ugly is all set to take the top spot and become the highest-grossing Tamil movie of 2025—possibly as early as today.

Final Words

Despite the mixed reviews, Ajith’s star power is clearly working in favor of Good Bad Ugly. The film is now a certified hit and continues to attract audiences across India. With a strong start and consistent performance over its first five days, this Kollywood action drama is proving that fan-driven cinema still has a strong place at the box office.
