Aishwarya Rai Bachchan Opens Up About Abuse Rumors in Her Relationship with Salman Khan.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Salman Khan were once one of Bollywood’s most talked-about couples. They began dating in 1999 after falling in love on the sets of their movie Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam. The Devdas actress explained that people were confusing an accident she had from falling down the stairs with claims of abuse.

She said, “That’s the giddy limit. Do I look like someone who would tolerate physical or verbal abuse? A year after my accident—when I fell down the stairs—people are still asking if I was abused. It’s saddening that I’m being portrayed as a battered woman. It wasn’t the year of the millennium for me but the ‘malign-um’ year.”

Aishwarya also questioned how long she would have to deal with these false allegations about her past relationship with Salman Khan. She compared the spread of misinformation to a situation where people might believe the sky is pink if enough sources claimed it to be true.

“Salman, Shah Rukh, Hrithik, and I have all been targeted this year. How long do we have to endure these false stories? When a lie is repeated often enough, people start believing it. If 100 people tomorrow say the sky is fuchsia pink and write theories about it in newspapers, someone will actually believe that the sky is pink,” she added.

The actress strongly criticized the media for spreading misleading narratives about her personal life. This interview was one of the rare occasions when Aishwarya spoke openly about her much-publicized relationship with Salman Khan.

Aishwarya and Salman’s relationship eventually ended in 2002. While the exact reasons for their breakup remain speculative, reports suggest that Salman’s alleged possessiveness and frequent arguments contributed to their split. In 2006, Aishwarya found love again with Abhishek Bachchan, and the two tied the knot in 2007.
