The trailer of Kannappa, one of the most awaited films of the year, was finally released on Saturday, giving fans a powerful glimpse into its story, visuals, and characters. Starring Vishnu Manchu in the lead, the film promises a gripping tale of devotion, action, and transformation.

A Journey from Atheist to Devotee

In Kannappa, Vishnu Manchu plays the role of Tinnadu, a tribal warrior who does not believe in God. At the start of the trailer, we see Tinnadu teasing his girlfriend (played by Preity Mukhundhan) for praying to Lord Shiva. He laughs at her devotion and mocks her beliefs. Watching all this, Goddess Parvati (played by Kajal Aggarwal) wonders how such a man could ever become a true devotee of Lord Shiva.

But everything changes when Rudra, a powerful godman played by Prabhas, enters Tinnadu’s life. Rudra’s arrival marks the beginning of Tinnadu’s spiritual journey. From a non-believer, Tinnadu transforms into Kannappa, a fierce and loyal devotee of Lord Shiva. The story is inspired by the legendary devotee Kannappa, who is known for his deep faith and ultimate sacrifice.

Prabhas Impresses as Rudra

One of the biggest highlights of the trailer is the appearance of Prabhas as Rudra. Though he plays a guest role, his presence is strong and memorable. With long hair, holy ash on his forehead, and powerful dialogue delivery, Prabhas truly fits the role of a divine messenger. His line “Antha Sivaleela” (Everything is Lord Shiva’s plan) hints at a deeper meaning behind his character and shows that his role will play an important part in the storyline.

Even though his screen time is short in the trailer, the scenes featuring Prabhas and Vishnu Manchu are packed with emotion and intensity, which has raised excitement among fans.

Visuals, Action, and Star Power

The trailer also shows many high-octane action scenes, grand sets, and beautifully crafted visuals. The attention to detail in the costumes, temple architecture, and fight sequences adds to the overall appeal. The trailer hints at strong emotional drama, especially as Tinnadu struggles between his old beliefs and his new faith.

We also get quick glimpses of Mohanlal and Mohan Babu, adding more star power to the already impressive cast. Their presence is expected to bring more depth to the film.

Release Date and Final Thoughts

Directed by Mukesh Kumar, Kannappa is set to release in theatres on June 27, 2025. The trailer is well-edited and does a great job of building hype around the film. It promises a powerful blend of mythology, action, and spiritual emotion, making it one of the most talked-about releases in Indian cinema.

With Vishnu Manchu in a strong lead role, Prabhas delivering an impactful cameo, and Akshay Kumar playing Lord Shiva, Kannappa seems set to take audiences on a divine cinematic journey.
