Triptii Dimri is now one of the most popular stars of this generation. With no background or family connection in the film industry, Triptii made her mark and won hearts after starring in Animal alongside Ranbir Kapoor. After this hit film, she quickly became known as the “National Crush.” But how did she start her acting journey? Let’s look back at her story, which is as inspiring as it is surprising.
In a chat with YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia (BeerBiceps), Triptii opened up about how she accidentally became an actor. The Qala actress shared a turning point in her life that changed everything.
She said, “While I was studying literature in college, one day, my brother’s friend—who had just bought a DSLR camera—took some photos of me in a park. He sent those pictures randomly to a modeling agency.” To her surprise, the agency liked her photos and called her for an audition two weeks later. She went for the audition and passed it!
Triptii revealed that the biggest challenge at that time was telling her parents about it. “The main challenge was: how do I tell my parents?” she said. In the beginning, she kept it a secret because she wasn’t sure how they’d react to her modeling and doing photoshoots.
But fate had other plans. When her pictures started appearing in newspapers and magazines, her parents found out. Luckily, they reacted positively. “When they saw my photos in newspapers, they felt maybe I’m going in the right direction,” Triptii shared.
Eventually, she lost interest in modeling and felt drawn to acting instead. “I stopped enjoying modeling. I wanted to act,” she added. She then started auditioning in Delhi. Soon, she landed a TV ad for Santoor soap, which was being shot in Mumbai. That gave her the opportunity to come to Mumbai—and once she was there, she began auditioning for films as well.
How Did Triptii Dimri Get Her First Movie Role?
Triptii then talked about how she got her first film role in Poster Boys, which starred Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol, and Shreyas Talpade. At first, she failed the audition. But when the casting team learned that she was in Mumbai, they called her back for another try. She gave the audition again, and the very next day, she was selected!
“I was shocked,” she said. “That day, when I told my parents that I’ll be working in a movie with Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol, they finally felt confident about my career path.”
Since then, there has been no looking back for Triptii Dimri. With her strong screen presence and natural acting talent, she has earned a special place in the hearts of fans.
