Now, Ram Charan is working on another rural-based film titled Peddi, which is being directed by Buchi Babu Sana, a protégé of Sukumar.
Since Peddi belongs to the same genre as Rangasthalam, comparisons between the two films are already being made. However, Charan seems confident that Peddi will stand strong on its own and offer something even bigger to the audience.
Ram Charan Shares Exciting Update About Peddi
A few days ago, Ram Charan and Jr NTR attended a special screening of RRR at the Royal Albert Hall in London. During the event, several fans asked Charan about updates on his upcoming film Peddi. Responding to them, the actor shared some interesting details about the project.
He said, “Peddi is shaping up really well. The whole team is very happy with the progress and the way the film is turning out. I’m confident that this movie will connect deeply with the audience.”
Ram Charan also revealed that around 30% of the film has been shot so far. He added, “Peddi will be bigger than Rangasthalam not just in terms of scale but also in emotional content. I’m really excited about it.” The actor plans to resume filming in mid-May.
Peddi Inspired by Real Events
After the success of RRR, Ram Charan’s solo release Game Changer released in early January this year. Directed by Shankar, the film received a lot of criticism for its routine storyline and weak writing. Many fans were disappointed, especially since expectations were sky-high after RRR.
Charan too faced criticism for choosing a film that lacked freshness and depth. It was a tough moment for the actor, as Game Changer turned out to be a box office failure.
However, Charan is determined to bounce back with Peddi. He believes this film has strong content, solid emotions, and will definitely appeal to the masses.
Peddi Features a Star-Studded Cast
