It has been five years since the world lost one of its finest actors, Irrfan Khan. The actor passed away on April 29, 2020, due to complications from a neuroendocrine tumour, a rare illness he had been battling. His sudden passing left a huge void in the hearts of fans, colleagues, and the film industry.

On the occasion of Irrfan Khan’s death anniversary, many have been remembering him, especially his Angrezi Medium co-star Radhikka Madan. The young actress worked closely with Irrfan in what turned out to be one of his final films, and she says the experience changed her forever.

Radhikka Madan on Working with Irrfan Khan

Radhikka opened up about her time working with the late actor. She said, “Working with him in Angrezi Medium really shaped me as an actor. He was always honest. He never gave a false performance. Even though he was such a big star, he never acted like one. He kept learning and never showed off his fame.”

She added that she still watches his films and often re-watches Angrezi Medium to relive the memories. “I miss him. I still watch his films. I have seen Angrezi Medium many times. Sometimes, I can’t believe I actually got to act with him,” she said.

A Special Bond on Set

Radhikka has always shared her love and respect for Irrfan through her social media posts. Recently, she posted some behind-the-scenes photos from the film and wrote an emotional caption: “The ‘Tarika’ in me is still alive! This little girl with big dreams in her eyes, the drive to conquer the world and take on anything that life offers her! An outsider is always looking for that one opportunity and THIS was my opportunity.”

This post touched many fans who also continue to celebrate Irrfan’s legacy.

Angrezi Medium: A Heartfelt Farewell

Angrezi Medium, released in 2020, is a beautiful story about a father’s love. Irrfan played the role of a caring father who goes to great lengths to help his daughter, played by Radhikka, achieve her dream of studying abroad. Directed by Homi Adajania, the film also featured actors like Dimple Kapadia, Pankaj Tripathi, Deepak Dobriyal, and Ranvir Shorey.

Though Irrfan was battling illness at the time of filming, his performance in the movie was deeply moving. After the film’s release, he was posthumously awarded Best Actor in a Leading Role at the Filmfare Awards. He also received the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 66th Filmfare Awards, honouring his incredible contribution to Indian cinema.

Remembering a Legend

Even after five years, Irrfan Khan’s legacy lives on through his unforgettable performances and the deep impact he left on his co-stars and fans. As Radhikka Madan’s heartfelt words remind us, Irrfan was not just a great actor but also a humble, inspiring human being.
