Ajith Kumar has once again proven his box office power! After Vidaamuyarchi, the South Indian superstar returned with another big release – Good Bad Ugly. The Tamil action-comedy has been winning hearts and pulling crowds to theatres. In just 10 days, it has become the highest-grossing Kollywood film of 2025. However, despite this major achievement, the film is struggling to recover its massive budget.

Good Bad Ugly Box Office Day 10: Strong Weekend Growth

Directed by Adhik Ravichandran, Good Bad Ugly was released in both Tamil and Telugu languages. As expected, the majority of the film’s earnings are coming from Tamil Nadu, while its Telugu version is nearing the end of its run.

On its 10th day, the film earned ₹5.65 crore net across all languages. The gross earnings for the day stood at ₹6.66 crore, according to early reports by Sacnilk. This shows that the film is still drawing decent crowds, especially over the weekend.

India Box Office Collections So Far

In 10 days, Good Bad Ugly has collected ₹130.65 crore net (₹147 crore gross) in India. With this, it has beaten every other Tamil film released in 2025 so far. The second-highest Tamil grosser this year is Dragon, which made ₹102.55 crore net. That’s nearly 22% lower than Ajith Kumar’s latest film!

This impressive milestone proves Ajith’s unbeatable fan following and star power at the box office.

Struggling to Recover the Huge Budget

While the film is a box office leader in 2025, it is still far from being a financial success. Good Bad Ugly is reported to have a huge production budget of ₹250-300 crore. So far, the film has recovered only around 42% of its investment from the Indian market.

To break even, it would need to earn much more — likely over ₹500 crore globally. That seems quite difficult based on the current pace. Entering the ₹200 crore club in India would help, but the chances of recovering the entire budget from domestic collections alone are slim.

Ajith’s earlier film Vidaamuyarchi also faced the same problem. Despite getting attention, it was declared a flop due to its high budget. Sadly, Good Bad Ugly seems to be on the same path.

Overseas Box Office: A Bright Spot

There is some good news from the international box office. Overseas, Good Bad Ugly is among the top-performing Indian films of the year. In 10 days, it earned ₹57 crore gross overseas. It is expected to cross the overseas total of Salman Khan’s Sikandar, which made ₹58 crore gross, very soon.

Worldwide Collection Update

Combining both domestic and international earnings, Good Bad Ugly has collected a whopping ₹204 crore gross worldwide in just 10 days. This makes it the highest-grossing Ajith Kumar film ever at the global box office!

Even though the film is a record-setter, it still faces the challenge of covering its massive budget. Fans are hoping it continues to perform well in the coming weeks.
