Jacqueline Fernandez, one of Bollywood’s most popular actresses, is mourning the loss of her mother, Kim Fernandez, who passed away today, April 6. Kim had been admitted to Mumbai’s Lilavati Hospital ICU on March 24 after suffering a heart stroke. She battled for her life for nearly two weeks, but sadly, she could not recover.
Jacqueline, who was working overseas at the time, immediately rushed back to India to be by her mother’s side. While the exact cause of death hasn’t been confirmed, sources say Kim was hospitalized after a serious heart stroke. This wasn’t her first health scare — in 2022, she also suffered a heart attack but recovered then.
The news of Kim’s passing has left Jacqueline heartbroken. The actress, known to keep her personal life private, has often spoken warmly about the close relationship she shared with her mother. In a past interview, Jacqueline had said,
“My mom always supported me. I miss her a lot. I live here alone without my parents. There are these two people who have been so strong, and they have been such an inspiration for me which always keeps me going.”
She also shared how her parents never stopped her from following her dreams.
“They never stopped me from doing anything. When I told my mom that I am joining the Miss Sri Lanka contest, she said ‘Okay, cool.’ And when I said, ‘Mom, I am moving to India,’ then also she was like ‘Okay’.”
Jacqueline had even canceled her scheduled performance at an IPL match last month due to her mother’s critical condition. She was supposed to perform during the Rajasthan Royals vs Kolkata Knight Riders game at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati. But with her mother in the ICU, she chose to stay by her side.
Kim Fernandez’s passing is a major loss for the Fernandez family, and fans around the world are expressing their condolences and support for the actress during this difficult time.
