Disney’s live-action movies have had mixed results—some becoming huge box-office hits while others flop. Unfortunately, the 2025 remake of Snow White falls into the latter category. Despite its big budget, the film is a major letdown, suffering from weak CGI, poor performances, and a confusing story.

What’s Good?
Rachel Zegler, who faced criticism before the film’s release, proves her talent with a strong performance. She acts well and sings beautifully, but even her efforts can’t save the movie.

What’s Bad?
Gal Gadot’s performance as the Evil Queen is the biggest disappointment. Unlike her previous roles in Wonder Woman and Fast & Furious, she lacks energy and depth in this film. Her acting feels forced, and her singing isn’t great either.

Another huge problem is the CGI used for the seven dwarfs. Instead of hiring real actors, Disney went for computer-generated characters that look unnatural and awkward. The film’s expensive budget didn’t result in quality visuals, making it seem cheap despite its high production cost.

Storyline and Execution
This version of Snow White tries to modernize the classic tale, but it doesn’t work. The new songs feel out of place and don’t match the film’s tone or characters. The story has been altered in ways that make it less engaging, stripping away the magic of the original. Instead of enhancing the beloved classic, these changes make it feel strange and uninspired.

The humor is another weak point, with most jokes falling flat. While some viewers might find a few moments amusing, the overall comedy lacks charm. The movie follows the basic Snow White storyline, but its pacing is off. Scenes feel disconnected, and the climax arrives so suddenly that it has little impact. The film seems rushed, as if key moments were cut out in editing.

Star Performances

  • Rachel Zegler: She proves critics wrong with a good performance and strong vocals. Unfortunately, she alone cannot carry the film.
  • Gal Gadot: Her portrayal of the Evil Queen is weak, lacking the charm and power she showed in her past roles.
  • Andrew Burnap & Jeremy Swift: Their performances are forgettable, mostly due to a poor script.

Direction and Production
Marc Webb, the director known for The Amazing Spider-Man movies, delivers one of his weakest projects. The production looks cheap, with poor lighting, weak costumes, and bad makeup. The lack of effort in these areas makes the film visually unappealing.

Music
The soundtrack features new songs, but none of them are memorable. Instead of adding magic to the film, the music feels awkward and forced. The original Snow White had iconic songs, but this remake fails to create anything special.

Final Verdict
Disney’s Snow White (2025) is a major disappointment. It is a poorly executed remake that lacks creativity and effort. Disney needs to focus on creating new, original stories instead of constantly remaking old ones. If you love Snow White, stick to the classic animated version.
